Wright v. Rentokil North America, Inc.

THE SUPERIOR COURT OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF KING
Case No. 24-2-23501-9 SEA

Class Members may be eligible for a payment estimated to be $1,489.01 from a class action settlement relating to their application for employment with Rentokil/Terminix.

Katherine Wright (“Plaintiff” or “Class Representative”), filed a lawsuit against Rentokil North America, Inc. and The Terminix International Company Limited Partnership (“Defendants,” and collectively with Plaintiff, the “Parties”) on behalf of herself and a class of similarly situated applicants. The lawsuit, Wright v. Rentokil North America, Inc., Case No. 24-2-23501-9 SEA (the “Lawsuit”) is currently pending in King County Superior Court. Plaintiff claimed in the lawsuit that Defendants’ job postings for open positions in Washington did not disclose the wage scale or salary range and/or a general description of all of the benefits and other compensation being offered in violation of the pay transparency provisions of the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities Act, RCW 49.58.110. Defendants dispute Plaintiff’s claims and contend they have not violated any law and Plaintiff’s claims are without merit.

The Court has not made any determinations regarding the merits of Plaintiff’s claims and it has not decided whether Defendants violated the law.

The Parties to the Lawsuit have reached a proposed Class Action Settlement. The Proposed Class Action Settlement includes a minimum payment of $395,638.98 (the “Minimum Settlement Fund”) and a maximum of $584,000.00 (the “Maximum Settlement Fund”) depending on how many Class Members submit a claim. On April 21, 2025, the Court issued an order preliminarily approving the settlement and authorizing the Settlement Administrator, Simpluris, Inc. (“Settlement Administrator”), to issue the Notice and Claim Form.

Class Members are receiving the Notice because Defendants’ records indicate they are eligible to participate in the Class Action Settlement as a member of the Settlement Class. “Settlement Class Members” include “All individuals who, from January 1, 2023, through the date of preliminary approval, applied for a job opening in the State of Washington with Rentokil North America, Inc. d/b/a Terminix, Terminix Commercial, Western Exterminator Company, Steritech, Solitude Lake Management, LLC, Vector Disease Control International LLC, Pratt Pest Management, Ambius, Target Specialty Products, Bensway Pest, and Intermountain Pest Control, where the job posting did not disclose the wage scale or salary range and/or a general description of benefits or other compensation for the position.”

The Court still has to decide whether to approve the settlement. No settlement benefits or payments will be provided unless the Court approves the settlement, and it becomes final.

Please read the Notice carefully. Your legal rights are affected regardless of whether you act or do not act. For complete details, please see the Settlement Agreement.
